Your opportunity to choose who represents you

We use democratic elections to choose the people that will speak and act on your behalf

Every student at Leeds University can vote in the annual Leadership Race, while other elections may have certain requirements – you must be a current resident of a Halls of Residence to vote in its Halls Rep elections, for example.

How to stand

To stand in any election, begin by logging in using your ISS username and password. Once you’ve logged in:

  • Find your election in the list below, and click on it to view more info
  • Click the 'Stand in this election' button
  • Follow the instructions on screen

  • Read and accept the terms and conditions
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to start voting
  • Our elections use the single transferable vote (STV) – so you can rank candidates in order of preference. Find out more about STV here.

The Activities Exec work together to make sure all clubs and societies are represented fairly and have equal access to resources. They also consult you and speak on your behalf when key decisions are being made at the Better Union Forum.

The Leadership Race 2012

A Current Students election

The six successful candidates will become the lead student representatives and trustees of Leeds University Union. This Race also incorporate's the election of the new Leeds Student Editor. There is a compulsory campaigns briefing at 5pm Jan 27th in the LUU Conference room. You must attend this meeting for your nomination to be accepted.
