LUU Volunteers in the Community
Projects in the Community
Volunteering & Community already have a large number of projects that take place in the local area. However, if you feel that there is a gap in the projects that we offer, get in touch and let us know by emailing volunteering@luu.leeds.ac.uk.
Union Community Representative Scheme
LUU has nine student community representatives who each cover a dedicated area close to the University of Leeds campus and help the Union help our students to be better neighbours. For more information on the scheme visit the Union Community Rep page.

Community Action Plan

Student Changeover - Leave Leeds Tidy
The aim of Leave Leeds Tidy is to encourage students to be responsible for the environmental impact that they have on the local area. As well as concentrating on the student changeover period, the Leave Leeds Tidy campaign will run throughout the year, to incorporate the reduction of general waste, such as that left on Woodhouse Moor during the summer months. For more information on Leave Leeds Tidy please visit www.leaveleedstidy.com.
Bardon Grange
The Bardon Grange project is a community food growing project that helps students, staff, and other members of the local community grow organic food, and gives people access to some communal growing space. Our main site is an old walled garden in North West Leeds that is owned by Leeds University, where people can come along to learn, practice and enjoy growing good food with other people from the local community. The project was established in January 2009 and is coordinated by Leeds University Union's Volunteering & Community office. Find out more at the Bardon Grange Project web page.
