Student Volunteering Opportunities

There are loads of different ways that students at the University of Leeds can get involved in volunteering. The Volunteering & Community (V&C) Office is the place to sign up for any volunteering opportunities. We’re on level two of the Union building, and you can come and visit us every weekday during term time between 1.00pm and 4.00pm.

Try It!

If you’re not sure you want to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity but would like to have a go then there are ways you can do this. Look out for the Give it a Go' programme for sessions with our student volunteering societies or you can sign up to our Community Skills project database to hear about all sorts of volunteering opportunities including 'one-off' opportunities.

Do It Regularly!

If you’re interested in a regular volunteering opportunity with a local community group or with a student-led volunteering project, visit us on level two of the union building and sign up to our database or fill in and return this form to us. We can advertise you on current opportunities and help you find something that interests you.

Lead It!

If you would like to lead a volunteering project, you have three options

  • Come to the office and let us know about an idea for a project which you have.
  • Sign up to lead one of the projects which the local community has asked us to develop
  • Register your interest in taking over a student-led volunteering society

We can support you to develop your project, through all of the project planning stages including budgeting and fundraising and finally recruiting and supporting your own team of volunteers. Come to level 2 in the union building between 1 and 4pm and we will arrange for someone to help you.
