If extreme activities are more your thing, test your speed on the indoor go-karting track at Pole Position or have a go at snowboarding at SNO!zone, an indoor slope with real snow.

Places to visit

Museums and galleries

Leeds has a range of fascinating venues for you to visit if you fancy seeing some interesting, creative or inspirational. To give you a little idea of what there is in and around Leeds, some of these museums and galleries include: the City Art Gallery which houses an impressive art collection including works from many local artists such as Atkinson Grimshaw, Jacob Kramer, David Hockney and Damien Hirst, and the Royal Armouries Museum which displays the national collection of arms and armour.
Venture outside the city centre and you will find Temple Newsam, a stately home set in 1200 acres of parkland (also the site of many large-scale concerts and festivals throughout the year); the Yorkshire Sculpture Park ; Roundhay Park Tropical World; the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television in Bradford, and many many more.

Shopping

From traditional markets and high street stores to designer boutiques and vintage shops, Leeds offers possibly the best shopping experience in the North. The shopping quarter is traffic free and compact allowing you to casually wander around, venturing into one of the five indoor shopping centres where you can pick up a bargain at the Kirkgate market, a designer handbag in the Victorian Quarter or a specialist, handmade gift in the Corn Exchange.
Amongst the shops and within the shopping centres are various cafes, bars and restaurants where you can have a bite to eat to recharge your batteries for more shopping or even catch a movie at Vue cinema within The Light once the shops have closed.
