Most of the Freshers' Week events and activities start on Monday 27th September once everyone has arrived. However, we also have an 'Early Arrivers Week' as many international students and UK students arrive a week before so there are also lots of events taking place in the week commencing Monday 20th September. Make sure you get yourself along to the Welcome Party on Sunday 19th September to kick start your life at university!
When you get here there will be loads of people who can help you. Look out for the red ‘Ask Me’ t-shirts worn by the Intro helpers who will be around the building and on campus to give you directions, information, or answer any questions. You can also ask at the Union's Helpdesk or any of the Union’ staff who will be armed with a daily ‘what’s on’ timetable and will be happy to help.
You can buy events tickets before arriving, online at www.leedstickets.com or when you get here from Cats in the Union building.
Before you get here, look online at all the clubs and societies you could get involved with on our main site at www.leedsuniversityunion.org.uk/clubsandsocieties. Once you get here, from Monday 27th to Thursday 30th, the Fresher's Fair will be taking place in the Riley Smith Hall (in the Union building) and in the University Sports Hall. Find out what activities you can find where and on what day in the Gist List or on the 'Events' section of this website.
You have to register at the University before you can get your student card. Find out how to register here.
You can register from the 2nd August (returning undergraduate students, returning taught postgraduate students, new taught postgraduate students) or 3rd September (new undergraduate students).
New students will be given information on where you to collect their new student card when registering.
You will be able to purchase or collect an NUS Extra card from the Information Point, in the Union building, from Monday 27th September to Friday 1st October. (Please note: this cost £10 and is an optional extra to your regular student card)
Find out more about NUS Extra here.
