Riley Awards 2010

The Riley Awards will be held on Friday 30th April 2010 and will mark the successes of the LUU Clubs and Societies as well as acknowledging the tremendous effort and dedication made by individuals.

The Awards

Nomination for The Riley's have now closed, and will be announced soon!

Best New Society

This is to award a Society that has started this year that has stood out amongst all other new societies.

Best Collaboration

This to award collaboration between Societies, where they have got together with another Society or group of people to put on something fantastic.

Best Give It A Go Award

This to acknowledge a Club or Society that put on a fantastic GIAG session that attracted plenty of people who then became members or perhaps or perhaps just gave those who came with a fantastic time.

Most Improved

This award will go to a Club or Society with massive improvement in the last year. Perhaps the group is now more effective, or membership has risen or just overall they have done much better this year.

Best Publicity

This is for a Club or Society that did something on campus this year that really stood up and made people take notice?

Best Campaign

This award is for a Club or Society who did a great campaign to highlight awareness about a particular issue.

Best Fundraiser

Whether it was a fundraiser for Charity of an event that raised loads of cash for your Club or Society – this award will acknowledge the group that put on a great fundraiser!

Best Show or Event

The Best Show or Event Award is there to recognise any group that put on a show or event that really stood out during this year!

LUU Achievement Award

The LUU Achievement Award is to reward an individual who has stood out in terms of dedication and success in their role in LUU Activities. The award will go to someone who has given a contribution that has been truly outstanding.

Leeds for Life Employability Award

Being part of LUU Activities plays an important role in developing the skillsets of our students and along with Leeds for Life, (the initiative from the University of Leeds to promote extra curricular activity) we wanted to acknowledge this with this award. This award is to acknowledge a student whose skill set has developed to the extent that they can clearly demonstrate why they have become more employable as a result, so if you think that’s you, then get nominating. There is also a £50 prize for the winner.

The Riley Award for the Best Club or Society

Some would say, this is the big one. This will be for, quite simply, the best Club or Society in LUU at the moment. This will be for a group that stand out above all others. It may be because they’ve done the best in BUCS, put on the best shows, run the best campaigns, put on the best set of social events or many other things – whatever it is, it will be something that makes the Club or Society stand out.

Hi Joanne,

If you just put 'Other' under Society and write 'Jitsu' in the comment box it'll be fine.

Look forward to reading your nomination!

Cheers. x

Please can you add jitsu to the list of society's so we can nominate them for an award.

Thanks.
