We’re changing the way we recycle at LUU!

What’s changing?
You may have noticed that the recycling bins here at LUU have changed!
We have removed individual paper, plastic and can recycling bins and, in their place, introduced Dry Mixed Recycling and Tetra Pak Recycling.
What do you need to do?
You should continue to separate your rubbish when you come to a waste and recycling point at LUU in to the following bins:
Mixed Recycling:
Put paper, cardboard, tins, cans, magazines and any kind of plastic in here!
Tetra Pak:
Put any juice, soup or UHT Milk cartons in here!
Compost:
Put all your food waste in here!
General Waste:
Put everything else in here!
What does this mean?
This means we now have more recycling options than ever before! Including our new recycling system and the improved public recycling point next to LUU, you can now recycle all the following items at LUU:
Aluminium foil, Books, Batteries, Cardboard, Cans/tins, Clothes, Electrical items, Food waste, Glass, Magazines, Newspapers, Paper, Plastics, Printer Cartriges Shoes and Tetra Pak. Phew!
Why are we doing this?
We have done this to:
-
Simplify our recycling process
-
Improve the range of materials we recycle, and;
-
Increase our recycling rates.
