Job Title: Retail Assistant – Union Books (Fixed term contract)
Responsible to: Assistant Manager – Union Books
Job Purpose To process daily deliveries. To deliver exceptional customer service to all our customers.
Duties & Responsibilities
Planning
To contribute to the development and implementation of the department’s plan.
Working with Others
To work effectively with people, developing productive relationships with members, customers, colleagues and stakeholders
Managing Resources
To take part in stock control( particularly returns processing) in accordance with LUU Financial Procedures.
Personal Effectiveness
To ensure that personal knowledge and skills are updated to ensure effectiveness in meeting work objectives.
Service Delivery
To deliver the highest level of service to each and every customer.
To ensure customer enquiries and orders (inc. mail order, accounts etc.)are dealt with efficiently & promptly.
To load/ unload delivery vehicles, completing relevant checks, administration, storage and preparation.
Products (Marketing)
To maintain a high standard of merchandising to maximise sales
To ensure that shelves are filled, items priced and are fit for sale.
Compliance
To comply with LUU’s internal procedures and all external legal requirements to include Health & Safety regulations.
General
To assist with shop administration such as order entry and housekeeping of the Booksolve software.
To ensure the maintenance of the working environment is clean, tidy and safe for both staff and customers.
Such other duties as may be reasonably prescribed by the Retail Store Manager appropriate to the grade and responsibilities of this post.
