Details
CLASSS (Community Leeds After-School Study Support) is an entirely voluntary supplementary school – all staff and tutors are volunteers. Their vision is to improve the educational achievements of children and young people in the metropolitan district of Leeds, particularly the Chapeltown, Harehills and Chapel Allerton areas (areas recognised for their high incidence of deprivation). The age range of the children is from 7 years to 18 years. Subjects covered are Literacy, Numeracy and Science. There are over 60 children registered and the attendance record is extremely good, averaging 72%.
The pupils, and their parents, aspire to a better future – they want to achieve good qualifications and to build worthwhile and successful careers. CLASSS aims to help these youngsters to reach their academic potential and to work towards their ambition to succeed in life.
