Leeds University Union is a charity that helps over 32,000 students love their time at Leeds. Located at the heart of campus, the Union is a space to meet people, make new friends and get involved.

Six elected students are the leaders of our organisation, backed by volunteers and staff. A lot happens in our building, but it’s also a hub for activity across campus, throughout Leeds and beyond.

By providing opportunities for development, support when things go wrong and representation to create change on issues that matter, our aim is to make a real difference.

Find out more about Leeds University Union at www.leedsuniversityunion.org.uk or follow us on Twitter @LeedsUniUnion.

An opportunity has arisen to join our Marketing department to coordinate Freshers’, one of the most important, busiest and fun times at the students’ union.

Available immediately, this role provides a superb opportunity for an organised individual with events or marketing experience to see this project though from the initial planning stages to the very end, including evaluation of the project. As a Freshers’ Project Coordinator you will work closely with the marketing team, internal union departments and stakeholders at the university to organise, manage and promote Freshers’ events and activities to all new students. This will include assisting with the organisation of Union Welcome Talks, freshers’ fairs and info points around halls and campus. You will also be responsible for distribution of all printed communications.

The suitable candidate should be familiar with the University of Leeds campus and the student experience at Leeds. You will need to show evidence of being highly organised and be able to manage multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines. You will also need to provide evidence of coordinating projects and working on your own initiative paying great attention to detail.

There will be a lot of communication between various internal departments and university departments to ensure key events are organised and communicated and therefore you will need to have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence people.

We offer 26 days’ holiday (plus generous statutory and customary closure days) and a final salary pension scheme.
