Shining Stars
If you haven’t heard about it already, we don’t know where you’ve been hiding! The Shining Stars scheme is LUU’s way of ensuring that staff who have gone over and above the call of duty outside of their normal role are recognised and rewarded for it. The winner in each category receives £100 to spend on anything they choose.
Shining Stars is open to ANY member of LUU staff. Basically, YOU nominate a teammate, colleague or even department who you feel deserves to be recognised. You can make a nomination at any point in the year in the following categories:
Bright Idea Award
For the person who has come up with the most innovative idea in LUU or who has ensured that we are always seeking new improvements and ideas.
Customer Service Award
For the person who deserves praise for delivering excellence in customer service.
Team Player Award
For the person who has contributed the most to their team.
Learning Award
For the person who has shown a strong commitment to learning and development or who has been a high achiever in this area.
Personal Achievement Award
For someone who has achieved a significant goal either at work or outside of work.
Unsung Hero Award
For that great person who always gives their all to LUU and never fully gets recognised.
CSR Award
For the person who has demonstrated a commitment to corporate social responsibility.
Diversity Award
For the person who has helped LUU to achieve its aim of being an inclusive and fair organisation.
You can nominate someone by simply filing in a shining stars nomination form (pdf). Include your name, the person you would like to nominate and the reasons why you believe they deserve to win. Then send your form to the HR and Admin department. The awards are held twice a year in June and December – these are LUU’s mini-version of the Oscars! The finalists in each category are announced and then the winner is revealed!
The deadline for nominations is the 10th June and 30th November each year.
Last year staff spent their hard-earned cash on a wide range of prizes including: a digital camera, holiday vouchers, a new mobile phone, GHD hair straighteners, a spa day, gym equipment, and garden furniture.
