Elections

LUU is a democratic, student-led organisation. For this reason, officers are elected annually from our student body to lead the Union and work with the 200 plus members of staff.

Elections give all students the opportunity to take an active part in deciding the future direction and governance of the Union.

Activities Exec Elections - May 2010

The Activities Exec Elections were only open to all members of a club or society. Following a week of voting, the results were announced Friday 14th May 2010. The following people will represent all LUU clubs and societies starting in the next academic year, starting September 2010. What elections take place throughout the year?

Throughout the year a number of different elections take place. Any student can stand in these elections.

Student Executive Elections (take place in February)
To elect the six students who will run the Union for the academic year. Find out more about our current Student Executive Officers.

Activities Executive (take place in April/May)
To elect the students to be the next year’s Activities Exec Officers. These eleven students support student activities.

Various elections take place throughout the year including the Residents' Committees elections and the Student Executive elections. Find out more about standing and voting in elections.

Referendum.

A referendum takes place if a consensus is not reached, on your idea, at the Better Forums. Students will then get to vote 'Yes' or 'No' to your idea. Find out more about proposing ideas and voting in referendum.
