On 21st November, NUS will be leading a National Demo on the streets of London.
Leeds University Union is supporting the Demo because we’re committed to getting the fairest deal for students & young people across the country.
Speaking to students around campus, we’ve heard about a whole range of issues affecting you and the people you know: £9K fees, high youth unemployment, threats to benefits and support.
So tell us what you’re unhappy with. What you want to change. What banner we should be marching under.
We won’t be going down because of what the Union thinks but because of what you think.
Come down with us on November 21st. It will only cost £5 for your voice to be heard.

First national student demo since 2010 tuition fee protests to be held this autumn
We want to give as many people as possible the chance to have their views heard at the Demo. As well as offering affordable transport (only a fiver!) we're also giving everyone the opportunity to add their message to a huge banner that we'll be taking through the streets of London.
-
If you're not logged in yet, sign in here
-
Upload a profile photo (optional, but the more faces on the banner the better!)
-
Add your message below
Things to bear in mind:
-
Personal messages make for great campaigns - so tell us what really matters to you and why
-
The Demo is an opportunity to raise the profile of a wide range of issues - think big and broad!
-
We can't (and won't) print anything that is threatening, abusive or damaging to the reputation of the Union
If you've discovered your reasons to march, then join us in London at the demo. We're taking coaches of students from the Parkinson building to London, leaving at 6am on 21st November. To cover the cost of transport, please book your place on a coach below for £5.

Getting to the demo »
- All coaches will be fully wheelchair accessible, just inform us when buying your ticket. If you have any queries please contact Rosie on R.perry@leeds.ac.uk
- If you have a carer or an assistant you don’t need to pay for them, simply inform us when you buy your ticket.

Mobility Bus
A mobility bus that takes people from the start to the end of the route, will drive at the back of the procession. If when you are on the march you want to get on the bus – go to the side of the road and alert a steward – a member of the stewarding team will then arrange for someone to wait with you until the bus comes along at the back to the march to collect you.
You can also use the mobility bus to travel the whole length of the Demo but you do need to reserve a space by emailing campaigns@nus.org.uk in advance.
Disabled Students Marching Together
The Disabled Students Committee will be marching in a safe space at the front of the
march. This is so that they can set the pace of the demonstration and ensure that people are not left behind due to mobility issues.
You are welcome to join them but of course are not obliged.
