Conservation Volunteers
About Us
We aim to have laugh whilst doing something we all believe in; conserving the natural environment. We work alongside local initiatives helping them manage the local woodlands. So on a typical day with us you could be doing anything from cutting down invasive trees, to planting native flowers/trees, to path construction or shrub clearance.
You can do as little or as much as you like any contribution is welcome, so even if you only have a couple of hours free come and join us.

However for those keeping a weather eye on beefing up their CVs; we offer certificates for those able to spend a bit more time out there enjoying the outdoors.
This year we hope to continue to give something back to our local community by helping to improve woodhouse ridge, which is just a fifteen minute walk from campus.

But we will also carry on to volunteer further afield; in places such as the peak district, otley, roundhay park and of course the dales.
We have a variety of socials such as paintballing and bowling.
A happy byproduct of our hacking down invasive species is a rather large supply of wood, which would just go to waste if we didn't use it for our BBQs
If drinking is more your thing you'll find like minded people in this society. Not only after every task do we make a short trip to the pub; we also love our otley runs.

Throughout the year we go on weekend trips to places a bit further away, these are usually hugely popular so you will be with a good crowd.
