About Us

Hockey at Leeds University is one of the bigggest and best Sports Club the Union has to offer!

With 6 teams competing in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) competition on a Wednesday afternoon and in the Yorkshire League on a Saturday, we cater for all standards from beginner to elite. With great weekly training sessions and great coaching staff, we strive to compete for success at each level we play. New this year id Development, who will compete in the University's Intra Mural competition.

Alongside our love of playing Hockey, the club also maintains a healthy social life.  Wednesday nights often being the highlight of the week, it gives the teams the chance to get to know each other off-pitch, and to bond as a club. Such socials include fancy dress as compulsory most weeks.

More Socials include: Freshers Otley Run, Varsity (Dont miss out!), Christmas Dinner, Ladies Day,"Hockey Holiday", Alumni Ball Club days at the begining and end of each term.

LUUWHC is more than just a club, its a society that provides opportunity to play a sport that you love, or one that you have never tried before! whislt making life long friends along the way.

""Joining the Hockey Club was the best thing i ever did  at Uni. I had only played in P.E and was never very good, but i have improved through dedication and enjoyment. I made some of the best friends i will ever have in the club and will never forget the 'Leeds' chant. I feel so proud to represent the club and look forward to fulfilling new aims and aspirations the next coming year." Ruby Kirby, Club Captain 2011-2012.
