About Us
A BUCS/FA Focus University for football, the University of Leeds Men?s Football Club is a BUCS Premier League Club which also competes in the West Yorkshire League. The combination of our top-class facilities and comprehensive coaching infrastructure makes the University one of the top footballing institutions in the country.
Competition;
The Men's Football Club operates 4 teams that participate in BUCS. The first team competes in the BUCS Premier League and the West Yorkshire League as the LEEDS Gryphons. The club also have a development side in the university Intra Mural programme.
Coaching;
Head Coach, Ian Burchnall, works with Bradford City FC and is the Team Manager for the BUCS Northern Universities squad. Ian has an impressive coaching team working with him including former Sheffield Utd professional Brian Deane, and Technical Director to MLS side San Jose Earthquakes, Prof. Bill Gerrard.
Facilities;
The Men's Football Club is based at our flagship outdoor facilities at Weetwood. Training takes place on our floodlit 3G rubber crumb pitch, with matches being played on the excellent grass pitch, adjacent to the 3G.
Recruitment;
Trials take place over the Intro period. There will also be a re-trial in December for those that were unsuccessful at first attempt. For the 09/10 season LUUMAFC will be looking to take on more members than in previous years with new teams being formed. Hopes for the season; To win every game we take part in! Each side should be genuinely challenging for league titles and cups. We also hope to sweep the board at Varsity with all four teams competing. Off the field we will be having our biggest and best socials yet with new ideas and events in the pipeline.

Wednesday 2.00pm KO Weetwood and Bodington Saturday 2.00pm KO Weetwood and Bodington
Training;
Mondays and Fridays 5-7 at Weetwood

Trials will be Thursday Friday saturday of freshers (24th 25th 26th) plus a second trial on Sunday 27th. Trials will cost £10 per student.
