Residents' Committees

The Tannery

About Us

At the Tannery, there's always a Residents' Committee made up of students just like you to organise fun, sporting and volunteering events for all of your new neighbours. What the committee do is totally up to the people who want to get involved so this is your chance to get some great skills, meet loads of people and have a lot of fun doing it at the same time!

There is also the chance to get involved in the Inter-Hall Sports Competition. Every hall will enter teams into loads of different tournaments and events including football, cricket, netball, squash and a weekly 5k time trial. It is up to the committee to enter the teams so you'll hear about how to get involved in them once the committees have been recruited.

This all en-suite accommodation is situated behind Sentinel Towers, a short walk from the city centre and 20 minutes walk from the western end of campus (handy for medical, dental and business students). Common room with flat screen TV, DVD player and pool table and a shop for essentials on the ground floor.

Meet your 2011/12 Committee:

President: Danielle Carter

The President is there to help everyone in their hall have a great year by representing them at LUU forums and ensuring that the Residents’ Committee is running smoothly. This will include liaising with residence staff and wardens, as well as LUU Staff and the executive officers and keeping you informed of all events and campaigns.

Communications Officer: Joshua Jalal

Communicates information from the committee and Students’ Union, getting messages out to everyone else living in your residence, through as many ways as possible such as through Facebook, e-mails and producing posters.

Events Officer: Neil Parmar

The Events officer organises events that everyone living in your residence can enjoy.

Sports Captain: Rob Wynne

Organises and enters sports teams into the Inter-Hall Sports Cup and liaises with the treasurer about purchasing team kits. See how your team is going here.

Green Rep: Oliviah Rix-Taylor

Helps you and your neighbours to reduce your impact on the environment as well as raising awareness and promoting campaigns and initiatives in the community.
