Residents' Committees

Do you want to be involved with the new Residents' Committee at Montague Burton when you arrive in September? What the committee does is totally up to the people who want to get involve, i.e. it's totally up to you! In the past couple of years, the committees have organised some great events that have meant that everyone could get to know each other really well. For any sporty residents, there will be the opportunity to play in the Inter-Hall Sports Competition in teams recruited and entered by the committee.

Just 7 minutes walk from campus and 15 minutes walk from the city centre, Montague Burton has shared bathroom facilities, and each bedroom has its own wash basin. There is also a covered, outdoor BBQ/picnic area on site. Some quiet/postgraduate blocks available.

Meet your 2011/12 Committee

President: Christopher Benjamin 

The President is there to help everyone in their hall have a great year by representing them at LUU forums and ensuring that the Residents’ Committee is running smoothly. This will include liaising with residence staff and wardens, as well as LUU Staff and the executive officers and keeping you informed of all events and campaigns.

Communications Officer: Ashlene Simpson 

Communicates information from the committee and Students’ Union, getting messages out to everyone else living in your residence, through as many ways as possible such as through Facebook, e-mails and producing posters.

Events Officer: Frankie Warne 

The Events officer organises events that everyone living in your residence can enjoy. 

Sports Captain: Nancy Nyamumbo 

Organises and enters sports teams into the Inter-Hall Sports Cup and liaises with the treasurer about purchasing team kits. See how your team are doing here.

Green Rep: Rose Muraguri

Helps you and your neighbours to reduce your impact on the environment as well as raising awareness and promoting campaigns and initiatives in the community.
