Residents' Committees

The Residents' Committee is there to organise events and such like for all of the people living down at Clarence Dock. What the committee does is totally up to the people who are involved, so it's up to you to come up with ideas for events that everyone can join in with. Events that have been organised by committees in the past include a Snow Ball in the bar, club nights, go-karting and massive Summer fun days to name but a few.

In an enviable location overlooking the River Aire, Clarence Dock offers city centre living in en-suite rooms, with its own lively cafe bar and gym facilities on site. Mini supermarket and stylish shops, bars and restaurants on your doorstep.

Meet your 2011/12 Committee:

President: Ammar Kahla

The President is there to help everyone in their hall have a great year by representing them at LUU forums and ensuring that the Residents’ Committee is running smoothly. This will include liaising with residence staff and wardens, as well as LUU Staff and the executive officers and keeping you informed of all events and campaigns.

Vice-President Treasurer: Jack Yeo

Prepares and manages the JCR budget, overseeing the income and expenditure throughout the year ensuring money is spent in the best way possible for students, and keeps the committee, residents, Students’ Union and University updated about the accounts. 

Communications Officer: Warren Coxhill 

Communicates information from the committee and Students’ Union, getting messages out to everyone else living in your residence, through as many ways as possible such as through Facebook, e-mails and producing posters.

Events Officer: Jade Swan 

The Events officer organises events that everyone living in your residence can enjoy. 

Green Rep: Arash Aryaeipour 

Helps you and your neighbours to reduce your impact on the environment as well as raising awareness and promoting campaigns and initiatives in the community. 

Sports Captain: Tom Thomas

Organises and enters sports teams into the Inter-Hall Sports Cup and liaises with the treasurer about purchasing team kits. See how your team are doing in the tournaments here.
