Residents' Committees

Right on campus, comprising the brand new Storm Jameson Court complex providing the latest in home comforts, and the newly refurbished Dobree and Whetton House.

Meet your 2011/12 Committee:

President: Sarah Spence

The President is there to help everyone in their hall have a great year by representing them at LUU forums and ensuring that the Residents’ Committee is running smoothly. This will include liaising with residence staff and wardens, as well as LUU Staff and the executive officers and keeping you informed of all events and campaigns.

Vice President: Treasurer Abbie O'Connor

Prepares and manages the JCR budget, overseeing the income and expenditure throughout the year ensuring money is spent in the best way possible for students, and keeps the committee, residents, Students’ Union and University updated about the accounts. 

Events Officer: Jessica Castle-Smith

As the Events officer, you will recruit and lead a team to organise events that everyone living in your residence can enjoy. This will include liaising with venues, suppliers, and students to create a varied events programme that suits all tastes. You will also work closely with the Communications officer to make sure that everyone knows what events are taking place, and with the VP Treasurer to ensure that events fit within the Residents’ Committee budget.

Green Rep: Emma Simpson

Helps you and your neighbours to reduce your impact on the environment as well as raising awareness and promoting campaigns and initiatives in the community. 

Sports Captain: Luke Gardiner

Organises and enters sports teams into the Inter-Hall Sports Cup and liaises with the treasurer about purchasing team kits. See how your team are doing in the inter-hall Sports tournament here.
