Residents' Committees

What is a Residents' Committee?

Every hall at Leeds Uni has a group of elected students called a Residents’ Committee. It’s up to them to organise loads of social and sporting events, that all students can participate in, to make your year in halls is one of the best of your life!
All residents are automatically eligible to join their Residents' Committee for their hall. These committees are elected in at the beginning of the first term.

Join your Residents' Committee!

Being involved in your Residents' Committee is a great way to make loads of new mates, have a lot of fun and get some good experience whilst you’re at it.

To get involved in your Residents' Committee, you need to:

  • Nominate yourself at www.leedsuniversityunion.org.uk/elections after 20th September. Nominations will close on Thursday 30th September at 4.00pm.
  • Come along to the info meeting in your hall to ask any questions that you have and talk to the staff about how it will work.
  • Get people to vote for you! Voting will be open online from Friday 1st October from 4.00pm, and will close at 4.00pm on Tuesday 5th October.
  • Come along to your Results Party to find out if you’ve won!

If you’ve got any questions in the meantime, email Rose at R.J.Hampton@leeds.ac.uk or have a look for ‘Rose LUU’ on Facebook.
