Mind Matters


About Us

The Mind Matters Society (MMS) is the only one of its kind in the country. It exists to raise awareness of issues surrounding mental health and to promote mental well-being amongst the student population and the wider community. It also seeks to challenge the stigma which continues to affect the issue, despite the fact that 1in 4 people experience a mental health problem at some point in their life.

The society organises a range of activities based on a monthly theme (see event diary at the bottom of the page) all with a central focus of promoting mental well-being for students in the Leeds area.

In addition, the society acts as a hub for information about working and volunteering in the mental health sector.

If you need help regarding your club and society, the Development Coordinators, who work in the Union's ARC (the Activities and Resource Centre), provide support, advice and help with all student activities.
