About Us
We are a student society concerned with protection of Civil Liberties and the Promotion of Human Rights. Liberty at Leeds organises a number of campaigns and social activities throughout the year to raise student awareness on current issues. We invite anyone to come to our meetings and see first hand how they can help protect civil liberties.
This term we will be looking at:
The criminalisation of young people. The UK currently has the lowest age in the EU for holding young people criminally responsible.
Anti-Terror legislation
Police Powers
Privacy- DNA testing, ID cards and internet privacy
Feel free to offer any suggestions on civil liberty issues you would like to campaign for.
