Labour Society Committee 2012-2013 

 

Chair:  Jonathan Pryor

 I oversee all activities of the Labour Society and it's committee; to whom I delegate duties and  responsibilities . I organise and  chair general meetings, committee meetings and the AGM. I act as the contact between the club and elected representatives and party organisers. I ensure democratic and constitutional procedure is adhered to, and am a signatory to the accounts and membership list.

Vice-Chair & Socials: Alice Smart

I assist the Chair in organising and running the club throughout the year, and take on the Chair's duties and responsibilities when she/he is unable to fufill them. I organise social events for members, as well as encouraging participation in the democratic procedures of LUU.

Secretary: Freya Potter

I assist the Chair in administrative work. I record and file minutes of meetings and keep a record of membership. I can sign for the accounts and membership list.

Treasurer: Joe Holt 

I deal with financial administration. I keep a record of all accounts and prepare an annual budget, including applications for subsidies from LUU. I attend the cash induction and other related meetings with LUU. I can sign for the accounts.

Campaigns: Clare Calder

I am responsible for running our on campus campaigns. I organise the Fresher's week campaign, as well as organizing occasional recruitment stalls in the Union to increase our visibility on-campus. I run our National Labour Students campaign for the year. I help to promote Labour values in the union through referendums and the better union forum and help campaign for Labour students who run for LUU exec.

Events: Freya Govus

I am responsible for organising events for LUU and the wider student body; contacting speakers, booking the rooms and running the events on the day, as well as  writing to thank speakers and other visitors for visiting Leeds Labour Students.

Web and Publicity: Rachel Barker

I act as administrator for the website and LUU’s social networking sites. I work to promote the society by publicising events around campus, and concentrating on recruiting new members at and through these events. I help the campaigns officer run our fresher's week campaign.
