This contains information about the insurance that is extended to you as a member of BSAC. It is important information so please take the time to read.
As a member of the British Sub Aqua Club, your membership cost also includes BSAC Third Party Insurance. This insurance covers up to £10,000,000 for civil liability compensation awards for personal injury to Third Parties or Members of the Public or damage to their property as a result of negligence by any BSAC Member.
The cover also includes up to £10,000,000 for civil liability pursued against Principals to BSAC i.e. Swimming Pools, Leisure Centres, Land Owners and Lake or Pit Owners that allow BSAC organised diving to take place on or in their property. Additionally, this insurance also includes up to £100,000 of Criminal Defence costs as a result of criminal action being taken against an insured for death or injury of a Third Party, damage or destruction to their property.

This is only a brief description of the Annual Liability Insurance that is stated more specifically in BSAC's Master Insurance Policy. A copy of the Master Policy can be obtained from BSAC Headquarters upon request.
Please note, this insurance included with BSAC membership does not cover travel insurance or equipment insurance (which can be purchased separately). When taking out travel insurance, always make sure to check that SCUBA diving is included in your policy, as often diving is specifically not included in travel insurance policies.
