Outdoor Activity Groups

Congratulations for considering to join one of the most active clubs at the University of Leeds and one of the best kayaking clubs in the UK!

At LUUCC, we pride ourselves on our wide and friendly member base of paddlers who specialise in all disciplines of canoe-sport and who are at varying levels of ability from the total beginner to the next "up and coming".  So, whether you're a GB freestyle aspirant, someone who's never sat in a kayak before, a polo player who spends their spare time sculpting their guns, or a hardcore waterfall kayaker - you'll fit right in with us!

We have a very active timetable of events throughout the year.  Week-in week-out we have: pool sessions every Monday to learn and improve new skills; socials every Wednesday hitting the various nightclubs of Leeds or trying out something a bit different; Canoe Polo sessions every Thursday, and river or surfing trips every Sunday to locations all around the North of England.  Not just that, but we also have various weekends away ranging from Tyne Tour, Lakes Weekend, BUCS Polo and White Water Racing to the world famous National Student Rodeo - an event catering for 800+ students organised by yep...you guessed it, LUUCC!

For an annual membership fee you'll be insured on all official club trips, get full hire of all the club's equipment (kayaks and gear), and be able to attend all of the club's weekly trips, sessions and socials as well as those memorable weekends away!
