Leeds Student newspaper
Find us: Upstairs in the Union building. Go up the stairs by the Union entrance, turn right and we are about 20 metres along to the right.
Leeds Student is the 2009 Guardian Student Newspaper of the year and the only weekly publication on campus. We aim to be your voice on campus: written for students, by students.
As well as our print edition, which hits the shelves every Friday morning of term-time, we have a fantastic website www.leedsstudent.org, and last were the first student publication to develop an ipad app. We also recently won and o2 award for specialist publication of the year, beating the likes of the Yorkshire Post.
We are always looking for new reporters, reviewers, photographers and designers so why not become part of this award-winning student publication?
To get involved, click on the link below to buy your membership. Unfortunately, you can only write for us once you have joined, but once you do you may write, design or photograph for as many sections as you like, as well as becoming part of a fun society and people always around to help with your writing…
Once signed-up, come along to our weekly meetings, which take place every week in the Union at the following times:
Monday - Features, 5pm in Room 3. Lifestyle and Culture (including TV, Books, Tech) 4pm in Room 1. Photos 5pm in the office.
Wednesday – Music 12.30pm in Room 3, Fashion 5pm in Room 3, Clubs 5pm in the office.
Thursday – Arts 5pm, Room 3.
Friday – News, 4pm in Room 3. Science, 4pm in the office. Comment, Debate and Observations, 5pm in Room 3. Sport, 5pm in Room 1.
However, don't feel as though the above meetings are the only times you can pop by: the door to our office is always open!
