Wing Chun

About Us

What is Wing Chun?

Wing chun is suitable for both men and women, giving all people the ability to fight and defend themselves without spending hours at the gym getting buff. No prior knowledge of martial arts is required to learn wing chun, and you will learn practical and real self defence and fighting techniques from the first lesson, allowing you to go out in the world fitter, more prepared and better equipped to face whatever may happen.

Wing Chun's hybridised heritage makes it adaptable for anyone in many situations, including against much larger opponents, multiple attackers and in ambush scenarios - making Wing Chun one of the most practical and popular self-defence systems in the world.

Wing Chun demonstrates incredible transference of strength using effective control of forward and reverse energies and 'one-inch' power to subdue our opponents at any range, allowing us to be prepared for any eventuality.

"Let the martial art fit you; not you to the martial art"

The society in 2011/2012

2011 was a great year for us, with our instructor Raj in the final five for couch of the year 2011 at Leeds university, and the club gaining new valuable members

Entering our fourth year, we're still a friendly welcoming club, with a tight knit atmosphere, where beginners are always welcome , with our membership and class prices staying as low as last year:

£10 membership - giving the ability to train with our society and excellent instructor Raj all year  a 10% discount at black eagle martial arts, access to all wing chun socials and access to a free seminar given by the UK wing chun association.

£2.50 for a two hour session, one of the lowest prices of all the martial art societies

This year we plan to expand upon our success, having socials in both terms, and running events throughout the year to further our knowledge of wing chun and enjoy our time in Leeds. Check back soon for details of our first events, or visit our facebook group:
