We are LUU's one and only Sign Language Society!
We meet up every Wednesday from 7-8pm in Parkinson Building, room 1.08. This is a very casual meet up where we teach basic BSL to our members, giving the opportunity for new people to learn BSL, and for those who know it already to practise and teach others. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, we accept all levels! Come along any time, and bring friends/housemates/significant others to join the fun!
In addition, for those who want their BSL achievements on paper, we run a Level 1 BSL course, which starts in October and runs until March. This is run by a fully qualified BSL teacher and is heavily subsidised by the society, therefore it only costs £90 (£25 payable on sign up and £65 payable on the first lesson of the course)!
Places for this year's course are full and the course is now underway. However if you are interested in doing it next year we will be doing sign ups at the end of the year (more information at a later date).
But its not all work....
LUUSLS enjoy regular socials, including nights out, fundraisers, BBQs, meals, signed theatre trips! On top of that, after every Wednesday night session we traditionally head to the Terrace for a bit of socialising, so you can get to know the committee and other members a bit better!
Membership for new members is £9.
If you were a member in 2010-11, you can join for the reduced price of £6!!
