Welcome to the Leeds University Union Science Fiction and Fantasy Society!
Our website is the best place to come for information on what's going on in the society; check the calendar and the forums to keep up to date on our events and what's going on with our members. (see below)
Just about any kind of geeky goodness you can imagine goes on in the society; no matter whether it's roleplay, LARPing, wargaming, card games, board games or even video games, you can find it all here. Also, with a library of well over a thousand books, anyone who's interested in classic sci-fi and fantasy literature is well catered for! In addition to all the gaming that goes on, we also hold showing evenings weekly, where you can come along and watch your favourite Sci-Fi series, and maybe even the odd film. We also make trips to the various events that go on throughout the year, like our recent trips to see films in the Bradford IMAX.
Brief example of a week:
Mon-
Tues- Scifi and fantasy showing, where we have an evening watching a number of films/tv shows
Wed- Magic the gathering, alternately playing standard and draft formats each week including booster prizes!
Thur- 'mostly' LARP pub meet, come along and enjoy a few drinks and some friendly banter
Fri-
Sat- Gaming Day! here we play anything from left for dead on the 360, warhammer 40k or our more traditional board or card games. Even if you don't want to play, pop along and there will be plenty of people there just to chat and have a lazy sat afternoon!
Sun- LARP, alternating between our futuristic 'Chrome' game and the Fantasy 'Age of Twilight'
Combine this with special events, including vast LAN gaming and video gaming tournaments with quiz nights, film trips and RPG's
and you will find yourself plenty to do :D
