General Interest Groups

Tired of being dragged to Halo and Oceana? We are here for you! The Rocksoc are a friendly bunch who just happen to have a shared passion for those catchy riffs and screaming guitar solos. We have members who listen to just about every genre within rock and metal and our clubnights offer a wide range of music in these genres, plus a little other stuff too! Our aim is to provide social events so you can meet those with similar interests, and our own events and clubnights so you never have to pretend to enjoy dancing in a trendy club with a WKD Blue in your hand ever again! Welcome to the rock 'n' roll debauchery!
 
We meet every Friday from half 8 in The Packhorse on Woodhouse Lane. So don't be shy! We promise to make new members feel most welcome. We also hold two of our own clubnights every month, and a group of us can always be found at other Leeds rock nights such as Rock Of Ages and Wendy House. Like last year, we also plan to run coach trips to rock clubs in other nearby cities. Going to a gig soon? Cost to join
£4 (from beginning of year)
£3 (after start of Christmas holidays)
£2 (after start of Easter holidays)
£1 (after start of summer holidays)
Your membership card will entitle you to £1 discount on entry to our own clubnights, Rock Of Ages, Wendy House and (hopefully) more to be confirmed.

Upcoming events
30th September: 'Two Smoking Barrels' (from 9pm at The Subculture). Our first clubnight of the year mainly focussing on rock. Meet 7pm Parkinson Steps for free buffet in Carpe Diem first.
 
14th October: 'Metal Kettle' 9pm The Subculture. Our slightly more metal clubnight.
 
29th October: Halloween party with costume competition. 9pm Pulse, Leeds University Union.
