About Us
The Real Ale Society is all about trying the thousands upon thousands of different beers in the world while having a laugh with friends.
What we do
Throughout the year we organise brewery tours, pub crawls, tasting sessions, pub quizzes, trips to beer festivals, and even an annual Beer Trip abroad. If there's any pubs or breweries you'd like to visit, speakers you'd like to hear, or beers you'd like to sample get in touch. We're always looking for ideas.
Past events
Past events have included:

Brewery tours at: Ridgeside, Copper Dragon, Ossett and many others

Tastings with: chocolate, wine, whiskey, cigars, and of course all sorts of beers

Pub crawls in Leeds, York, Bradford and the famous Real Ale Trail

Beer festivals in Manchester, Huddersfield, Sheffield, and many closer to home

Beer trips to Belgium, Prague, Munich and Tallinn
We've also arranged discounts at local off-licenses, talks from beer experts, and many, many evenings in the pub.

• 18/03 – 23/03 Rome Beer Trip
Membership
Membership is a measly £5 and is used to organise events and subsidise your travel to them. We welcome students and non-students (although please see the Union's policies on non-students within societies) whether you are a Real Ale fanatic or have yet to sample your first pint.
