Comics & Graphic Novels
About Us
The Comic Soc is a friendly and enthusiastic group of individuals united by an appreciation of sequential and narrative art. This is your chance to meet and collaborate with amateurs and professionals in the medium, and take part in our numerous social activities and discover exciting new titles in our huge shared library. Plus, enjoy the added bonus of fantastic discounts from our good friends at the Travelling Man comic store. Drop us a line and say hi, or simply come along to one of our numerous pub socials down at the Fab Cafe.
We welcome all those interested, whether you've been reading comic books for years or have never picked one up. Our members have ever-growing personal libraries of books that are frequently borrowed so you can try out some titles without having to pay!
Since we started in 2009 Comic Soc has gone from strength to strength. We've enjoyed film screenings of Watchmen, Iron Man 2 and this passing year the likes of Thor, X-Men and Captain America along with monthly drawing sessions hosted by the good folks at OK Comics. The annual Thought Bubble convention is always a highlight, bringing a whole weekend of events and we'll keep you up to date with smaller fairs and sales going on around the town. We've also teamed up with the Sci Fi and Anime societies to bring a giant-sized Geek Off quiz which is bound to return with a bang. This year we hope to hold even more joint-society socials whilst keeping our bi-weekly meetups and towards the summer we've got The Amazing Spiderman, The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises to look forward too, along with our regular end of year blowout.

A small £2 donation to the treasury.
- What that fee gets you:

- Regular social / meeting information:
We regularly meet for light-hearted discussion and socialising at Fab Cafe in the city centre, just a quick walk from the University. All events are posted on our Facebook page beforehand so why not join us, drop by and introduce yourself?
