Calligraphy

About Us

The Calligraphy Society exists to introduce Leeds University students and the wider public to the various forms of calligraphy. If you want to learn calligraphy or just appreciate the art, then read on.

We're here because we all love calligraphy; the scratchy pens, the splattering ink, and the lovely crinkley parchment.

Currently, we have regular Arabic calligraphy classes and we held a Chinese calligraphy workshop in Spring 2010. We aim to continue this during the next academic year as well as holding regular English calligraphy classes.

The resources section of our website is full of stuff for calligraphy enthusiasts - learning material (with videos), galleries and information on the histories of the various styles.
