Spoken word/ slam poetry is FINALLY HERE at leeds University. To all poets, singers and MC's/ Rappers willing to take up their slam style pieces up onto the stage, WELCOME! and also to any of you that would like to take up a new interest or hobby, we are here to represent YOU!

Last year we hosted two successful slams, with a showcase of talent from budding artists and new-coming performers both in and around leeds! this year we hope to do the same, but will this time hold workshops and performance classes for those of you who are new to slam poetry.

For those of you who do not know what exactly slam poetry is, its pretty simple.. you have 3minutes on the stage, to perform a poem that you have written yourself. how you perform it is purely upto you! a panel of judges will grade your piece and you will be battling against other poets for the ultimate championship title of slam winner representing Leeds University.

if you're not the performing type, then FEAR NOT, as we have just as much going on for you! we will have regular socials where we will take you all to local open mics to have a listen and a relaxing evening taking in the best talent that leeds has to offer!
