About Us
MatSoc is the society for the golden oldies, the bingo fanatics and those who enjoy a spot of afternoon tea OR we're the mature and part-time students society (you decide)!
First and foremost, we are a socially active group which offers mature and part-time students the opportunity to connect with one another. We hold various events such as; coffee mornings, day trips, nights out, theatre outings, child friendly events and many more.
Secondly, we aim to support our members throughout their time at Leeds. We work closely with the Lifelong Learning Centre (LLC) and Leeds University Union (LUU), helping to ensure - as a diverse student group - you are heard.
All are welcome. Be you undergrad, postgrad, full or part-time!
Membership is just £3.00, so what are you waiting for?!
Weekly Event
Every Wednesday between 12pm-2pm we hold our coffee morning, located in the Ziff building in the Level 12 common room. One of our lovely committee members will be on hand to welcome you and make a cup of your favourite brew when you arrive. Come for good conversation or just to escape your books, we don't mind! (A small donation towards your cup(s) would be greatly appreciated)
Pub Quiz
On the 2nd Thursday of the month, we shall be partaking in the Old Bar Pub Quiz. Lets join forces and see if we can win the £50 prize! Entry cost per person is 50p.
(Dates - 2011:October 13th, November 10th, 2012: January 12th, February 9th and March 8th.)
