Disabilities Society

About Us

It is time to secure the future of DisSoc and I have been in talks with Mature Students Society to find a way of solving various issues we have had this year including lack of funding, lack of engagement etc.

We urgently need you to come along from 4pm in the Terrace (in the area opposite the foyer Helpdesk) to discuss the possibility of merging with MatSoc. The new society would be given the name of Think Differently! There would be room to have separate sub-committees etc for Think Disability! and others. We could have joint and separate socials etc.

The only way to get  a society YOU want is to come along and make sure you tell us your views! Please ensure you sign up to the event to make sure we have enough seating and space.

If you wish to submit a manifesto for committee posts please send it via email to robyn.brockie@yahoo.co.uk no later than 4pm on 26th April to enable it to be circulated.

The agenda will be as follows but is subject to change:

1. Discussion of past years activities.

2. Discussion of merger.

3. Discussion of practicalities to include LUU rules, committee positions etc.

4. Vote on new society.

5. Short speeches from thos wishing to take committee roles.

6. Voting on committee positions.

7. AOB - social!

Hope to see you all soon,

Robyn Brockie

President of DisSoc
