About Us

Brunei Society or better known as Bruleeds Society was first established in 2007. Brunei is a small kingdom and a Muslim nation on Borneo Island in South East Asia. Not many people know where our country is, so our aim is to welcome anyone with different backgrounds to learn about our cultures, our language, and our faith. Make a difference and be outstanding! yes, that's our motto.

 
We hold events like Eid Celebration, Brunei Cultural exhibition, National Day dinner, Brunei Cyber Games, BBQ spring and also trips around UK and Europe. We are also into sports that we have our own netball and football teams, and yes we go paintballing and bowling.
 
Meetings are usually done at various places around Leeds University and we will contact you for any meetings.

Brunei Darussalam or Nation of Brunei, the Abode of Peace is situated in Southeast Asia next to Malaysia and Indonesia. The city of Brunei is called Bandar Seri Begawan. It is an islamic country which follows the concept of Melayu Islam Beraja (MIB) that includes Malay culture, Islamic religion and the political framework under the monarchy. Brunei is ruled by a sultan that has the legal system based on the Islamic syariah law. Its main language is Malay although other languages such as English and Chinese are also spoken. 
 
Small in size but big in attractions is what we Brunei Darussalam can offer to all its visitors. A sun washed jewel clenched between the South China Sea and North Borneo's rainforest, the sultanate of Brunei Darussalam exudes the color and mystique of a nation whose sovereignty once stretched across the entire island of Borneo and the tourist attractions in Brunei are just fantastic! Brunei is an oil and gas rich and this unique country has some incredible tourist attractions such as Sultan Omar Ali Saiffuddien Mosque, river journeys and virgin rainforest that sure would make the visitors to appreciate this fact. Brunei's true treasures are its charming, gracious people whose hospitality reflects the country's warm and its rich cultural heritage and glorious past colourful tradition together with its natural beauty complete its charming ingredients.
