Departmental Groups

The society welcomes all students who are interested in a career in the global Oil, Gas and Petrochemical industry.  We incorporate students from a wide range of petroleum related disciplines (e.g. Geology, Geophysics, Mechanical Engineering).  As a society we work closely alongside the international Society of Petroleum Engineers and other SPE University chapters to arrange both academic and social events for our members.

Orders for hoodies are no longer being taken for this academic year.  They will however be available again next year at a discounted rate to members.

Sports

Petroleum Engineering FC (The Roughnecks)

- The 5-a-side Petroleum Engineering team plays in the University Intra-mural Tournament every Monday 1pm – 2pm.  We have been very successful in the league and have reached the play off finals.

- Regular Training Sessions – updated weekly on the Facebook Group. All members are welcome to attend training.

 Membership - Join Online

Memberships enable you to participate in all events including all socials and industry events.  It also allows you to play in the sports teams that represent the society.  We also offer discounts to members on hoodies and other events organised by the society.  We charge a one off fee which makes you a member of the society throughout your time at the University.

We are able to offer membership at this excellent rate due to the funding we receive from other sources.
