AY 2011/2012 has been a massive success for the Business Society. We have been branded the largest Business society and 2nd biggest society on the University of Leeds Campus, with more students year on year identifying the massive opportunities the society can offer them during their time at Leeds.
AY 2012/2013 is set to be even more successful.
Careers
The Society is partnered with some of the biggest and most influential financial companies in the country. We focus on helping students enter into the following career areas: Finance, Investment Banking, Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Public Sector and IT Consulting. Throughout the year the Society runs specific skills sessions provided by our sponsors. We provide Employability Workshops, CV Checks, Mock Interviews, Application Assistance and Guest Speakers throughout the year. Further to this we will be offering trips to academic and educational events.
This year, the society was sponsored by massive names such as PWC and IBM. LUBS also had Citigroup, Bloomberg and other top companies host events for members to participate. These events consist of all expenses paid dinners, whereby members can ask employers about internships, graduate opportunities or just get to know the company and its industry. These events have proven successful for the society, with several of our members gaining jobs with these companies for their placement years and after their degree.

Socials
This year LUBS have organised an array of events for our members. As well as having a buzzing Business Socials and dinner parties throughout the year, LUBS held the first Ball at the Hilton Hotel and the unforgettable Amsterdam weekender. All these events aim to get members socialising and meeting new people, but most of all provide outstanding memories for your time at University.
Other events the society have hosted include International social events, go- karting and visits to company offices. For 2012/2013 LUBS plan on bringing the same high standard of social events to make your first year at Leeds as memorable as possible.

These events are exclusive to LUBS Soc members and require a membership card which you will receive when joining. This year we have some great discount cards for ALL members with Vodka Revolution, Mint Mondays, Space Tuesdays and Voodoo Events.
Sports
There is the opportunity to play for our Rugby, Football or Netball teams at LUBS, where they compete against many University squads all over the UK. Last year both the Rugby and Football teams were in the Top 5 of the University Society Leagues and were successful in hosting many social gatherings for their members. Next year LUBS have secured new sponsors for team kits and plan to have another great year for all sports team on and off the pitch. If you are interested in joining, during freshers our sports secretaries will be encouraging those who are interested in signing up. There is no doubt joining a sports team on a society is a perfect way to get involved in all aspects of the society.
How to Join
During Freshers week LUBS will be at the Freshers fair on Monday the 17th of September for anyone who wishes to sign up. We will also be at the Business School entrance and Undergraduate common room throughout the first weeks. However, an easy way to sign up is through the LUU website, under Departmental Societies, Business School. www.leedsuniversityunion.org. uk/clubsandsocieties/ departmental/BusinessSchool/ Membership per year is only £15, but LUBS also offer a lifetime membership at £40. The price includes access to exclusive career events, discounted meals and socials, subsidised trips, special offers for clubs and bars in Leeds, access to the LUBS book sale and much more planned for 2012/2013.
