Departmental Groups

Joining the LUBS Society is a great way to meet course mates, like-minded business people and friends within the department. The Society accepts members from across the University who have an interest in business.

 

 

The Society's objectives are to:

 

 

 

Together we will be running some of the biggest socials of the year. Highlights of the upcoming year include our Launch Party, the Halloween Social, a trip to Alton Towers and the LUBS Summer Ball. 

Events will be run regularly across the year providing its members with great opportunities to get to know each other. 

 

The socials are subsidised with help from our sponsor companies to help out students who are on a budget.

 

 

The Society is partnered with some of the biggest and most influential financial companies in the country. We focus on helping students enter into the following career areas: Finance, Investment Banking, Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Public Sector and IT Consulting. Throughout the year the Society runs specific skills sessions provided by our sponsors. We provide Employability Workshops, CV Checks, Mock Interviews, Application Assistance and Guest Speakers throughout the year. Further to this we will be offering trips to academic and educational events.

 

 

 

Being part of one of the Society’s teams allows you to meet and make friends from a wide background, who all have similar interests when it comes to sport and their studies. The Society offers students the opportunity to get involved in competitive sport through the University's intra-mural leagues. The society already has successful teams in Rugby, Football and Netball. The sports teams run joint social events to help you to get to know your teammates better.
