Dance Groups

Bellydancing is a beautiful dance for women of all ages, sizes and shapes. It's a great way to keep fit, make friends, and move parts of  your body you didn't know you could move!

The LUU Bellydance Society offers classes for complete beginners and for those who have a background in the dance too. We provide coinbelts and veils for members to use in classes, and we have socials where we meet up to watch live bellydancing and have a giggle. Also, all our members take part in the annual LUU Dance Show, though participation in this is entirely optional.
 

Our Classes,

For this semester we offer:

Beginner A - MONDAYS
Improver - MONDAYS
Beginner B - TUESDAYS
Beginner C - TUESDAYS

Beginners - An ideal class for those who have never tried Bellydancing before. A chance to learn the basics.

Beginners A and B are a continuation of the classes from semester 1, feel free to join this if you already have a basic understanding of bellydancing and want to join a class that isn't starting from scratch. If you want a class that starts from scratch Beginners C does.

Improver - This class is suited for those who have taken a beginners class and would like to learn more. The steps are slightly more complex, and knowledge of the basic moves is expected. 

Membership for the year = £10
 

Class fees per semester = £12.50

If you are having problems or you have questions about online sign up please contact the bellydance development coordiator Jess on j.j.hawker@leeds.ac.uk.

Don't sign up for membership if you have not spoken to the committee about attending classes first because if the classes are full and you can't attend them your money won't be refunded.
