Bhangra Dance Society

Bhangra is more than just ‘screwing the lightbulbs’ and ‘patting the dog’... It’s a fun-filled, energetic and explosive form of dance which originates from Punjab, India. It involves a combination of traditional folk rhythm fused with modern beats guaranteed to get you in the dancing mood.

We hope to bring a burst of Punjabi flavour to the Leeds University scene holding regular weekly practices, currently every Wednesday from 6.30-8.30pm, Dance Studio at Plaza Accomodation.
We perform at numerous shows and competitions - Anything to get the bhangra vibe out there!!

And not forgetting the socials! - Bhangra is known to get any party started, and the LUU Bhangra Society doesn't disappoint!! Along with the nights out, we bring a burst of energy to karaoke, bowling, ice skating, etc.

Taking Bhangra to the Streets!!
When we aren't practicing, performing or coming up with new routines, there's nothing else to do but let ourselves loose on the streets of Leeds!!
