Dance Groups

LEEDS FREESTYLE DANCE was established in September 2010 with the passion to provide top-class freestyle dance classes at any level. 

We've had an amazingly successful first year involving winning FIRST PLACE in Advanced Modern at 'Durham Dance Fusion 2010', winning the Modern category and Best Choreography at 'Salou Fest', filming a flash mob for Channel 4's 'Gok's Fashion Fix', participating in shows including RAG Fashion Show and Leeds Rocks to name a few and finally performing in local clubs: Halo, Oceana, The Rock Bar, Chilli White and Space. The year was topped off perfectly when we were short-listed to be nominated at the Riley Awards 2011 for 'Best New Society'

So, if you're based around Leeds, come and join us in the quest to showcase our talent in university competitions, shows, club appearances and even on the biggest university sports tour in Salou to make our next year bigger and even more successful!

If you’re not already aware of what Freestyle Dance is, think Ashley Wallen meets Pineapple Dance Studios minus Louis Spence! It is a FUSION of a variety of different dance styles, such as, modern, street, commercial jazz and contemporary dance. So if you like either style or all, this society is definitely one to try. 

Classes running all term every week for beginners and Intermediate/ Advanced. 

*GIVE IT A GO SESSION is on Wednesday 25th January in THE Michael Sadler Building room lg.10upstairs in the union (on Leeds Uni campus adjacent to the parkinson building)

6-7pm - Beginners
7-8pm - Intermediate/Advanced

Cost is £1.50 per session

*Classes are every Wednesday in room LG10 in the Michael Sadler Building (on Leeds Uni campus)

7-8pm - Beginners
8-9pm - Intermediate/Advanced

Members cost is £2.50 and Non-members cost is £3.50. Membership is £20 for the entire year!
