Freestyle is a dance society with a stong passion for high energy performance and top quality dance classes!

We pride ourselves on being the only dance society within the University who incorporates any style of dance to our work.

We focus on a fusion of dance using Street, Jazz, Commercial, HipHop, House and Contemporary styles.

This year we hope to:

• Continue performing and competing nationally and internationally
• Obtain further TV coverage
• Dance for more charity organisations
• Set up Freestyle Fundraising Campaigns
• More Freestyle Dance Videos

OPPORTUNITIES

Dance classes run all term every week for beginners and intermediate/advanced.

All our classes are open to anyone you do not need to be a student at Leeds University.

Beginners will be held Wednesdays in Michael Sadler Building LG10 on the University Campus @ 18.30 – 19.30

Intermediate/Advanced will be held Thursdays in Room 6 in the University Union @ 20.30 – 21.30

As well as classes we will be holding GIVE IT A GO sessions, where classes will be available for a discount price in order for you to ‘give’ our society ‘a go’.

Our first GIVE IT A GO will be held on October 4th 2012!

Freestyle also hosts a number of socials each term.

Our socials are a great way to get to know your fellow dancers and committee members,

and if you are a Fresher, joining our society and coming on our socials is an amazing way to meet a diverse range of people

and trust us, you will make the best friends you’ve ever had.

 We highly recommend you come for ‘a night on the tiles’ with us!

CHOREOGRAPHER

We are extremely excited to announce that our

2012/13 Choreographer is Julius Ebreo!

Julius is a top class choreographer who has just finished the UK/International tour of We Will Rock You.

He recently performed at Buckingham Palace for a special performance of Romeo & Juliet for the Royal Family

and has provided artistic direction and choreography for Jane Cho's Elektra, London Fashion Week and also for the Cartoon Opera Company.

Not to mention his performance in one of Plan B's music videos!
