Culture Groups

The official LUU Scandinavian Society, bringing together Scandinavians at Leeds University! Everyone is welcome to join, even if you've got no Scandinavian roots and have never even been close to that part of the world! Anyone representing minority Scandinavians is welcome too, all you Faroese/Greenlander/Åland islanders!

Please join our group on Facebook to make sure you receive regular messages on socials and events so you don't miss out, we don't use a mailing list so this is how we reach you!

Membership for a year is only £5 and helps to support the costs of organizing the Christmas party, independence/national day celebrations and subsidize costs so that things are cheaper for you!

Things to look forward to this year include:
 

• Socials approximately every 2 weeks, for a general chat and drinks
• Ikea trips!
   
• Otley runs (Scandinavian-themed, of course!)

• Independence/national day celebrations

• Christmas party

• Ice-skating

• Trip to German Christmas market

Any more ideas for things that we could do this year, just message a committee member on Facebook and let them know so we can make this year a great celebration of Scandinavianess!

 You can also email us, there are 2 committee members at the beginning of the 2011/12 academic year - we will be forming a full new committee soon after the end of September, so do think about putting yourself forward - duties are light and are a great way to meet people!
