About Us

Leeds University Union Japanese Society

Are you interested in meeting real Japanese people and learning more about the Land of the Rising Sun? Are you a Japanese student living in Leeds interested in learning more about British culture and meeting real Leeds students? Then the Japanese Society is for you!

We are not a society that caters exclusively to students of Japanese, we are a diverse Faith and Cultures Society with a membership base that stretches from Japanese Exchange Students and International Students to Leeds Students from all subject areas.

As a society,  we aim to act as host to our Guest Students from Japan by introducing them to aspects of British culture  and by acting as a forum where they can meet Leeds Students easily. We hope to create an atmosphere where Japanophiles and students of Japanese can learn more about Japan's culture and language from Japanese members/ their Senpai through our social and cultural events.

Here's a quick rundown of our agenda for the academic year 2011/2012 Semester 1:-
