What are you doing?
Students across Leeds are campaigning to make the bus service more affordable, more frequent, and more reliable.
Why are you doing it?
The buses in Leeds are more expensive than in other cities. As the only bus company operating on student routes, First need to acknowledge that students aren’t made of cash and can't just keep putting up the price! Public transport must be encouraged as part of a sustainable future; cheaper buses will also help to encourage more students to leave their cars at home.
How are you doing it?
Mass petition of First buses to agree a maximum price per mile. Mass actions and lobbying with the support of the University.
What have you achieved so far?
The issue has been flagged with the University and we are looking in to our previous dealings with First in order to see what we can do next.
