Hello!
Are you a budding gardener, landscaper or someone who wants to make their mark on campus?
An exciting opportunity to create a sustainable garden on campus to celebrate the 2012 London Olympics has arisen. This is something that will be enjoyed by many people in different ways, both this year and into the future.
I want to know what you want to see in this space. We want it to commemorate Leeds' involvement in the 2012 Olympics, so it needs to have an Olympic theme and incorporate some of the designs and colours.
I want your feedback on what plants you want to see (eg. flowers, shrubs, trees, veg, herbs, fruit), animals you imagine would benefit from the space (eg. wildlife, aquatic wildlife, bees!), structures (eg. paths, raised beds, sculptures, statues, info boards/plaques, seating), and events you imagine happening there (eg. social space, horticultural training) .
This space is right next to Roger Stevens - you know the one that looks like it covered in moss at the moment?!
I've attached a plan of the space and one idea of what it could like. If you want to get involved send me your ideas and drawings by Wednesday 1st February and they will be taken into consideration for the final design!
Happy Garden planning!
